The Tale of Finishing the Bubble Pullover

I mentioned somewhere that I ran out of kidmohair for the Bubble Pullover, which I knit from one strand of kidmohair and one strand of ordinary wool. Thus, I needed to order 25 g more. Wanting these 200g of 100% silk yarn seen in front of the photo to knit together with some of my other stash, I purchased what I thought would be the same yarn at a company different from the one I originally ordered the kidmohair from.


Of course, it wasn't the same colour - not even close. So --- I had to order a ball from where I originally bought the kidmohair as well:

Unfortunately, hat is more than 25 g odd balls added to the stash, but I think I'll manage. Anyway, I'm happy that I finished the Bubble Pullover 'cause it is absolutely awesome!! I'll try to wear this sweater to pieces because it is just sooooo nice to wear!

I made it less baggy than it is in the book (Knitting Nature) - I think that suits me better. And here is a detail: The buttons are ladybirds:

Knitted from approx. 130 g of dark blue kidmohair and approx. 200 g of lighter blue (2 different colours actually since 2 of the pentagons and one cuff has a different colour) 100% wool from Henrichsens Uldspinderi.

In this way, my stash is now reduced by another 330 g, i.e. 1738 g in total since February 25.

I did not buy yarn for 4 months of the Stashalong. Now I've earned a decent amount-allowed-to-buy (40% of what I knit up), so I've made some purchases as you can see. Furhtermore, I have some cashmere coming from Posh Yarn -mmmmmm!

The free day I have earned from finishing the Bubble Pullover as part of the June KAL in KAL on Stashalong will be used on my holidays in Göteborg or at getknitted.com.

Pattern: Bubble Pullover from Knitting Nature by Norah Gaughan.

Yarn: 1 strand kidmohair, 1 strand 100% wool from Henrichsens Uldspinderi.

Needles: 4.0 mm and 4.5 mm.

Size: Large, but turned out small due to the smaller gauge (as planned).

Stash reduction: 330 g.

Thuja-ish socks finished

Knitted from 76 g of Trekking XXL in colour 77. The stitch pattern is from the Thuja socks on knitty.com, but I made it fit this yarn and did the heel I always do :) I like them.

This very strange photo setup is due to a couple of facts: 1) no one at home to take the photos for me until Friday, so I have to take them myself with help from the mirror; 2) the strange green colour in two of the photos is due to the fact that it's almost 2AM here and all dark outside - the strange colour comes from not using the flash. The bright turquoise colour is the right one!

I think I'll be fond of this vest when colder times comes so I can actually wear it.

Stats: My own design, but using the honeycomb stitch pattern of Honeycomb Henley in Norah Gaughan's Knitting Nature.
2 strands of DROPS Alpaca (garnstudio.com) on needles 4.5-5 mm.

282 g of stash used.

This leads to a stash reduction of 1332 g since February 25.

This is good since I had to order 1 more 25 g skein of kidmohair to finish the now almost finished Bubble Pullover. While ordering at garn.dk I thought I might as well order some silk to pair with some of my stash in order to use some of that up. Thus, I have ordered 225 g of yarn, and since I was allowed to order 533 g, I now have an amount of 308 g left.

I really hope that I will get this kidmohair in time to finish the Bubble Pullover for the Stashalong June KAL in KAL so I can earn a free day - I would like to be able to (but not necessarily do) use it on my summer holiday as mentioned below.

A 6-gram garment

Incredible. A garment can in fact be as small as 6g:

I made a fishnet stitch pattern (yo, k2tog) and garter stitch rows in between.

7 x 24 inches, very stretchy, very soft, and very nicely petrol blue this scarf turned out just as I wanted it. I have several large scarves but no tiny ones that will not take over my entire look. And even better: I got rid of this 6g odd ball. I really like this colour and how the pattern turned out, so I'm pleased with this tiny scarf!

Need I say that my stash is now reduced by another 6g ;) 1050g used since February 25.

Oh, I'm looking forward

During the summer holiday trip I'm taking with my boyfriend in the middle of June we are going to stay in Göteborg for 3 days. It just so happens to be that one of the most well-assorted yarn stores in Scandinavia is in Göteborg. I've been told that they stock a lot of lovely yarns including Malabrigo - the yarn praised to the skies by many bloggers, and a yarn that I have yet to set my fingers on! So --- guess where I'll be going for some time while we are in Göteborg? I hope there is a nice bar or café nearby where Peter can go ;) And I definitely hope they are not closed for the summer those 3 days!!!

Hence - I'm saving amounts of yarn to buy - I have to knit and knit and knit and knit continously until the middle of July to gain the largest amount possible, at present this amount is around 500g. If you wonder what I'm talking about: In joining the Stashalong I have chosen an option where I can buy an amount of yarn corresponding to 40% of the amount I have knitted up. -- Knit, knit, knit, knit, knit

Oh - in other news - I handed in my bachelor thesis today! (wait a minute, I just have to make a celebration dance) It was a very interesting work, still it is some relief that I do not have to work and worry if I'll make it in time 10 hours each day. And guess what? Just as I finished my thesis the telly stopped working! So now I'm watching DR (Denmarks BBC I guess) on the computer while knitting - fortunately, this is my favourite channel; call me granny, educated, or whatever you like :)

A FO comping up...

Not yet, but very soon the blog silence will be broken: I have an almost finished object! I still need to weave in the ends on the Honeycomb Vest - the one that started as a Somewhat Cowl but wanted to be a vest of my own design in the lovely honeycomb pattern from Knitting Nature. I have already tried it on - I like it a lot! :D

Still - this time I will not post any photos or make an announcement before the ends are actually wowen in! So --- something to be looking forward to.

I've been posting at the Stashalong for the June KAL within KAL where I'm trying to finish the Bubble Pullover. From these posts it can be seen (OH NO! I have adapted one of the thesis expressions in my everyday language!) that I haven't had much time for knitting due to writing on my bachelor thesis. BUT, tomorrow I'm handing it in --- and then I'll be knitting away! Oh, I'm looking forward!

Finish all your Christmas gifts in 1 day

-- by knitting this scarf that will make the crowd go wild and take you 2 hours to knit. It requires almost no knitting skills, and though that may be somewhat boring and maybe not satisfactory not to show what you can actually accomplish with a set of needles I'm sure your recipient will love it. If you make it, try using the technique this knitter did by turning the yarn on the edges to get different colours on each side.

I'm frogging it

Some days ago I stated that I was going to finish The Somewhat Cowl although I'm not sure how it will turn out. Well, I'll never know, 'cause I decided that it won't turn out well - I'm frogging it. I decided to do so, since I now have a plan for the yarn: I'm making a vest or a short sleeved sweater of my own design using the stitch pattern of the Honeycomb Henley in Knitting Nature.

I think my June project for the KAL within a KAL on Stashalong will be the Bubble Pullover from Knitting Nature -- not a very ambitious aim, but a realistic one leaving time for writing my BScE thesis. I've got the buttons now: ladybirds.

Peek-A-Boo Cloche

I finished the Peek-A-Boo Cloche from Lace Style:

Sorry for this crappy photo of me wearing the hat, but I had to take it myself. As you can see, I still need to weave in the ends, too.

The hat is knitted from Tvinni and Tvinni Alpaca (1 strand each), red and black - the leftovers from the poncho skirt. This yarn is somewhat thicker than called for in the pattern, but my head is large, and using this yarn makes the hat larger and thicker. I used bamboo needles size 3mm and metal needles size 4 mm.

It reduced my stash with 84g - this means that I have used 1044 g of stash in 3 months :D

I think I'll be happy with this hat when the winter returns in 6 months - warm due to the double layers, and pretty.

Update

On this lovely, early Sunday morning I just wanted to make an update report, although there is nothing much to say.

The Bubble Pullover now has almost 2 sleeves - the bottom rib and collar is yet to come. And I ordered 2 different kinds of funny buttons for it! Now I just have to decide which ones look the better.

The Somewhat Cowl --- well, I tried it on, and it seems there is too much fabric next to the collar. I think I may not sew the collar in like the pattern calls for. Anyway, I'll finish it now that I have come this far with it, and hope that it turns out okay.

I just started another pair of socks in some blueish Trekking XXL. I use the Thuja seed stich pattern, but with 64sts around.

I'm still contemplating what to choose for the KAL within a KAL on Stashalong. I think it might be the Color On Color scarf - still it may be too large a project since I'm also finishing my bachelor thesis in June. Still contemplating.

I finished the Spiral Scarf

I finished the Spiral Scarf from Knitting Nature, which I started last weekend. You can read about the yarn in the post just below this one. It has 14 hexagons, and the largest hexagon has 25 sts along the sides. Knitted on 3.5mm bamboo dpns.

I think this is a nice application for this yarn, that my DM gave me :)

The scarf reduced the stash by the 110g it added to it, since I got this yarn after I started the Stashalong - still, it doesn't count down in the amount I'm allowed to buy, since I didn't actually buy this yarn. This makes my total stash reduction since 02/25/07: 960g - so close to 1kg :D

I've started the Spiral Scarf from Knitting Nature

It is knitted from this blue yarn, which is one strand of mohair mixed with a 2-ply strand, that changes colour between black, yellow, turquoise, and pink - I think this strand is made of cotton and maybe polyamide.
I made my largest hexagon with 24 sts along the sides, i.e. two more than the pattern calls for, to make the scarf a little larger. By now, I have made 8 hexagons, starting with the largest one.

Monkey socks

So, here are the Monkey socks from knitty.com knitted from 72 g of Admiral Ombré on metal dpns size 2.5mm. My stash is now reduced by 850 g since 25th of February.

2 hats finished, Bubble Pullover progress, and Scarf

Yesterday, I knitted these two hats from a pattern from knitty.com, and today I've been weaving in the ends:


Actually, I only meant to make one, but the first one turned out too small; I thought I used dpns size 5mm for Peter's hat, but I found out that I must have used 5.5mm's to get to that size. So - I just knit another one... Even better - making two of these used all of these frogged skeins of New Zealand lambswool!
Here you can see the different sizes due to 5mm and 5.5mm needles, respectively:

The small hat used up 50 g, and the larger one 52 g. That gives me a total stash reduction of 778 g since 25th of February. See my ticker at the bottom of the page.

I've also done some knitting on the Bubble Pullover from Knitting Nature:

One sleeve and a bottom rib and a collar is missing.

I also promised to post a picture of the finished scarf:

It is more than 2 meters long, and made from a lovely, soft silk-wool blend. See earlier posts on this scarf here and here.

I think the Monkey socks will be finished soon as well - looking forward.

Not much knitting go on

Sadly, I haven't had time for much knitting lately. Yesterday, I spent 10.5 hours at the university - in the lab doing experiments for my bachelor thesis. Most of my days have been like this the past couple of weeks, and to manage that I have to go to bed at 10 pm - and since I come home around 6 pm every day and also have other things to attend, there isn't much knitting being done. When I find 10 minutes to knit here and there, I mostly knit the Monkey socks from knitty.com or the Peek-A-Boo Cloche from Lace Style.

I'm looking forward to Thursday, which is the day when I'm handing in the last two assignments this semester, since it is my last day of school (when it comes to the courses I attend besides the bachelor thesis) - then I'll study for the exams with some days in the lab in between, and in June it will be bachelor thesis only. Hopefully, I'll have more time for knitting, though not much, after Thursday.

Look what I got!

My own woven labels! I spent some time contemplating whether it should be "hand knit" or "hand-knitted" since the dictionary said it could be both - but now it says "Hand-knitted by ...my name...". I think they are very nice labels - nice quality. I ordered them at Scannex (a Danish company). I've also ordered some with a white background and red text saying "Made by ...my name..." so I can use them for other things as well, but they haven't been made yet.

Scarf finished

I finished my narrow stripy scarf - I'll post photos later, when I've woven in the ends and had the scarf in the washing machine.

My stash is thereby reduced with 78g, which means that I have used up 676g since February 25th. Follow my ticker at the absolute bottom of the page.

Alas, I discovered, that I probably do not have enough kid mohair to finish the Bubble Pullover from Knitting Nature, which I knit from one strand of kidmohair and one strand of wool. I'm still hoping that I can make it with what I've got, but I'm absolutely not sure. If I run out, I'll have to use up some of the amount-allowed-to-by I earned by knitting from my stash (currently ~270g). Let's see.

Progress update

I've mostly been working on the Bubble Pullover from Knitting Nature the last week - I'm now on pentagon 7, which means that very soon I'll be done with the funny pentagons and left with the boring ribbing and stockinette for the sleeves, collar and bottom - I hope I'll make it anyway, though.

I've also been knitting on the narrow stripy scarf, which will be finished in 40-50 cm, and that might be soon.

I haven't been knitting on the Somewhat Cowl - the ribbing and stockinette is tedious.

I haven't been knitting on the Color on Color Scarf either - I do not need a huge scarf for the summertime, now do I? Well, actually I'm just stuck in the first fair isle section - I've got nothing against fair isle, though, it's just all the colour changes combined with the fair isle which takes some time...

I frogged the beginning of the Flair. I think I want to make it into an oversize vest - or maybe I'll just wait 'till I come up with something better. I'm a little disappointed that the lovely linen/alpaca gray yarn, that I'm using, is dusting away while I'm knitting - on the floor, on my pants, on the chair - everywhere. I think it's meant for outdoor knitting in the summer time ;)

Next up on the needles might be the Quivit Cardigan from The Natural Knitter (lovely book) - and maybe some socks and a scarf for Peter...

I also ought to sew in the buttons of the cardigan I finished. Hmmm... maybe this weekend.

A lovely spring day in Copenhagen

The weather has been really nice here in northern Copenhagen today. The sun has been shining all day - we're reaching 20C. I went on my bike to Lyngby, where I go to the university (9km from where I live) and back again to have my glasses put back in shape - it was a nice ride, and I enjoyed the weather and the brand new green leaves and flowers on the trees. In Lyngby I even went into the LYS and touched all the yarn, but didn't buy anything! :)

It's Friday (which means that tomorrow it's weekend - yeah!), but I didn't go to the university today - I stayed at home on our sunny terraces, and knitted and read some literature on MRI.

The day before yesterday, I got these three books:

And today the VogueKnitting Magazine was in the mail - all the way from Florida. It's interesting to see the VogueKnitting magazine, however, it seems to me, that the winter edition (the previous) was more interesting than this spring edition.

And about the books --- my mom bought Knitting Nature when she went to the States last year, so I know this awesome book already (I just had to have my own!). The Natural Knitter is just as awesome as Knitting Nature - and, fortunately, the two books are very different while equally nice. (Note for my mom: you must buy "The Natural Knitter" for the library ;)). The Knitter's Handy Book of Sweater Patterns - I'm sure that will come in handy (haha) several times in the future!

Cardigan and Head Wrap finished

Today and yesterday I finished the Dream Swatch Head Wrap and my mini-spring-cardigan of my own design, respectively.



The head wrap reduced my stash with 72 g - that includes the cardbord cone, that the yarn was on, since it was weighed in when I initially weighed my stash. The yarn is some ordinary somewhat shiny cotton - the leftovers from the cherry belt (below).

The cardigan is drying after the wash, and the buttons are yet to be sewn in - hence the sans me photo.

The cardigan weighs 172g, however it reduced my stash with 66 g only, since 106 g came from a never-used tank top that I frogged. The yarn contains three different strands - two cotton and one, thicker strand of silk.

By now, I have reduced my stash by 598g - still 6574g to go.

I am happy about my progress though. I picked up the Bubble Pullover from Knitting Nature again - the one which I had to frog after knitting 6 pentagons because it was too small. I'm now on pentagon 2.

Back from Easter holidays: Almost 2 FO's

So - I returned from the loveliest Easter holidays today.

During Easter I did almost no studying - I enjoyed the holidays! I finished the cherry belt completely:

The belt is 84 g. From the rest of the yarn from the belt, I'm knitting the Dream Swatch Head Wrap:

It will be finished soon. I also finished knitting the Spring-Mini-Cardigan, but I didn't sew it together yet - so, no picture and no weighing.

My mother gifted me some lovely yarn (100g) from her stash (gifts from other people's stash fortunately don't count as strikes) - I think I'll be knitting the Spiral Scarf from Knitting Nature, though I haven't decided yet - I'll decide when I get to pick up the three marvellous books waiting for me in a book store: "Knitting Nature", "The Natural Knitter" and "The Knitter's Handy Book of Sweater Patterns" - mmmm, I'm looking forward!

Easter holidays and expected progress

Tomorrow I'm going on Easter holidays. I hope to finish the spring-mini-cardigan, The Somewhat Cowl and maybe even the cherry belt. Well, I have a lot of studying to do, so if I don't finish these projects, it may possibly mean that I have done the studying, that I should. Still, these months the knitting-studying equilibrium in me seems to be favouring the knitting... :)

Bubby the Bear

I have had this 24 g worsted weight odd-ball in my stash for a very long time. I the rest of the yarn to make my first ever pair of mitts like 7 years ago. I havent got any other worsted weight yarn in my stash, so I really wanted to use up this ball that didn't fit anywhere. Enter, Bubby the Bear from knitty.com.



Here's a progress shot:

When I finished Bubby I still had a tiny amount of yarn left. I didn't want to be keeping this yarn and throwing it out is not an option in my stash-reduction - so I stuffed it into Bubby's body. The rest of the stuffing is the finest merino meant for felting (maybe you can see it in the right bottom corner of the picture). By the way, when I used up the ball, I found out that the yarn was Rauma ragg meant for heavy socks (or mitts).



And there he is! Say hello to the cute little bear - I'm still thinking about a name for him.

I don't know yet whether I'll give Bubby away as a present, or if I'll keep him here with me. Let's see about that.

Bubby reduced my stash by 24g.

Amount used since February 25th: 376g. Stash left: 6796g. Amount of new yarn, I am allowed to purchase: 150,4g. It's all adding up.

Spring-item finished

Thank God it's Easter holidays! I've been looking forward to this break for a long time, and this weekend I finished the Elvira blouse (and started a new summer-mini-cardigan, which I'll show you another time):


Well, I would have preferred it to be in the light heather-colour only, but I ran out, and since I'm knitting from stash only I used the opportunity to use up all the pink kidmohair as well. I think it will do as a nice blouse for the colder spring days.

Knitted with two strands of kid mohair (B.C. yarn, a Danish company) in an easy lace pattern from a Danish knitting book.

It reduced my stash with 112g, so now I'm down to 6820g. I used up 352g since I started on February 25th - thus I am allowed to buy 140,8g (40% of the amount used), though I do not intend to do so before I have used a larger amount of my stash. I have a lot of WIPs, so I'm expecting a boom of FO's at some point.

A nice stash project

I just thought I'd show you my favourite gloves, although I finished them one or two years ago and have been using them ever since (hence the reparation on the thumb), because they are an obvious stashproject (especially for you who have a lot of sock yarn leftovers, but do not want any more stripy socks):

I did this: collected all my stash of the sock-yarn-type, split it up in two halves so that there were equal amounts of each colour for each glove - this makes them a pair although they are actually very different (just like the Camper Twins shoes, you know ;)). I also made sure that the beginning and the tips had the same (purple-brown) colour - also to make these gloves a pair.

These are my favourite gloves, and now I have shared the idea with you, so that you can make yourself a pair too. :)

They are a happy knit - the random stripes make all the fingers a little less tedious to make! :)

Damn!

After having finished Pentagon 6 of the Bubble Pullover from Knitting Nature it turns out, that I will have to knit size large (due to my smaller gauge) in order to make the pullover large enough (well, it's large enough, but I'd like it to be a bit baggy like it is in the book...

So - I'll have to frog it and start over again :( Annoying, yes, but I've learned from my knitting experience, that it's better to frog and make something that I'll actually use instead of finishing something, that I know inside is a little bit wrong - that'll only lead to me not using it.

Lesson learned.

Currently on the needles

I decided to spend some of this lovely Sunday to photograph the items, which are currently on the needles. I already posted the Elvira blouse some time ago, but here are the rest of the projects.

All the projects are knitted from stash, since I am attending the Stashalong 2007.

This is the Bubble Pullover from Knitting Nature by Norah Gaughan.

I make it in two blue colours from Henrichsens Uldspinderi combined with marine kidmohair. I make most of the pullover in the petrol blue, but I'm doing 2 of the pentagons and maybe the beginning of one sleeve in cobalt blue. I've decided to swap the ssk's and the k2tog's to make the decreases a design feature, like one of the other bloggers on the Knitting Nature KAL did.

I just started the Color on Color scarf from scarf style.

I'm knitting it from 33 different kinds of stash - my mother provided me two of the colours, the rest are my own. In the book it is made from approx. 50 different colours of Paternayan Persian wool - I found the colour charts with a little help from my friend Google, and mathced the colour numbers in the book with my own stash - it's project to knit from stash. It's hard to tell how it will turn out yet, but it looks so lovely in the book, that I wanted to give it a try.

Here is the cherry belt

I made up the design with inspiration from Sonia Rykiel (oh, I'm fond of her (very expensive) clothes). It has been an UFO for some time now - I hope I'll find the power to finish it some time.

Here is the narrow, stripy scarf I'm doing from the lovelies wool/silk yarn, which I got for free, because it was some small leftover bundles, when I went to Henrichsens Uldspinderi to purchase some yarn last autumn.

I'm knitting it when I attend lectures at the university. Since I'm doing my bachelor (undergraduate) thesis this spring, I'm only attending lectures on Thursdays, and therefore the progress is a bit slow.

Scarf complete!

This weekend I finished the scarf with letters:

The letters on the scarf says HALSTØRKLÆDE - the Danish word for scarf. I came up with the design myself, and I'm very fond of it!! My boyfriend now wants one with his name on it.

It's knitted in a double-knitting technique, which somewhat resembles the jacquard technique, apart from the fact that this double-knitted technique gives you stockinette on both sides of the fabric.

It is made from 3 kinds of stash: Lambswool from New Zealand (3 different colour), tweed-like wool from Shetland, 50/50 mohair/wool made in Italy.

This scarf reduced my stash with 132 g, so now I'm down to 6932 g.

Stash-along 2007 - English version

As you can see below (if you can read Danish) I have decided to join the Stash-along 2007.

My rules/goals are:

At noon, 25/2-07 I had: 7172 g of yarn; stash.

For the rest of 2007 I'm only allowed to buy an amount of yarn corresponding to 40% of the amount of the stash, that I have used. Everything is measured by weight.

Today, I decided to give up the idea of making an English version of this blog although I have the birgitteknits.blogspot.com domain. Instead I will try to English-alize this blog, i.e. I will write a summary in English for each post (if I do not write it in English entirely). I do not think that I will write summaries for previous posts, but I will do it in the future. For some time to come, the sidebar will still be a mixture of Danish and English.

Stash-along 2007

Her har vi det: alt mit garn. Og det er slet ikke så lidt: 7,172 kg!!! :O :O :O

Så derfor her jeg besluttet mig for at deltage på Stash-along, hvor man i en periode binder sig til at strikke af det garn, man har derhjemme i forvejen (stash = garnrester) og IKKE købe noget nyt. Man kan vælge mellem flere forskellige regelsæt. Jeg har valgt, at jeg i resten af 2007 vil veje hvor meget af det garn, jeg har i dag (25/2-07), jeg får strikket til færdige projekter, og jeg må kun købe nyt garn i en mængde, der maksimalt svarer til halvdelen (gerne endnu mindre; det har jeg ikke endeligt besluttet endnu) af den mængde, jeg får strikket op. På den måde vil jeg skære kraftigt ned i mit garnlager, og det er vi sikkert mere end én, der vil være glade for ;)

Jeg har allerede brugt de første 108 g til at komme af med det eneste tykke garn, jeg havde. Det blev på 2 timer til et halstørklæde i perlestrik.

Jeg regner med at give det væk - skal bare lige finde ud af til hvem.
Så nu er jeg nede på 7064 g.

I finished Mrs. Beeton from knitty.com (follow the link above). Photo later... By now, I've finished 4 out of 7 objects without starting on a new one - I'm proud of myself.

Amimono Lavender & Vest i hulmønster færdige!

Min udgave af Amimono Lavender er færdig. Jeg har ikke mønsteret, så den er strikket ud fra mine observationer af en færdigstrikket model. To tråde Drops Alpaca i en køn mørkeblå-lilla farve, sammensat af blå, turkisblå, lilla og rød. Det er farve 6834m her, men den er endnu flottere i virkeligheden.

Også vesten i hulmønster fra Drops er færdig. Jeg har fulgt mønsterets mindste størrelse, bortset fra at jeg har strikket én ekstra gang hulmønster på ryggen (i højden). Den er også strikket i to tråde Drops Alpaca, også i en meleret farve, som består af to lilla farver, lidt gul og lidt rød. Det er farve 6736m her, men dens virkelige karakter fremgår bedre i virkeligheden.

Billederne er lidt underlige, men da jeg er syg gider jeg ikke have mit blege ansigt på nettet ;)

Pomatomus strømper færdige

Her ses kun den ene, men den anden er også færdig. De er rigtig fine! Og sjove at strikke :) Strikket i Grignasco Strong. Mønsteret findes her.

Gamle strikkede objekter

Jeg har strikket en masse, men ikke alt er blevet fotograferet. Jeg bringer har billeder, af de færdige strikkeprojekter, jeg kunne finde i mine fotoarkiver... Måske kommer der flere senere efterhånden som jeg får taget nogle flere billeder.

Her er trøjen som vi strikkede til Ella sidste jul (læs: Peter strikkede 4-8 pinde, jeg strikkede resten). Det er selvfølgelig en Pippi-trøje, som efter at være blevet set lidt an i et halvt års tid nu bruges flittigt :) Opskriften er fra "Strik til blå stue", garnet er Fandango (fra butikken af samme navn) og Full fra Madil.
Resten af garnet blev til en hue: Her kan man ane min bolero/cardigan, som jeg bruger meget. Den er strikket i 123 Silk Tweed (rød) og Kid Seta (Madil) + en rest af noget rødt tweedgarn som jeg har arvet fra Moaren. Opskriften er en kopi fra et ugeblad.
Her er sjalet, som jeg strikkede til Moar i anledning at 60-årsfødselsdagen. Det er Ene's Scarf fra "Scarf Style", som jeg har gjort en del større (6x14m i hver side, så vidt jeg erindrer). Garnet er New Zealandsk Lammeuld, som Moaren selv har købt på Vormstrupvej. Nu kan det også købes hos 123knit.com.

These are some of the objects, that I have previously knitted (oh, there are many many more, but these are the ones I has photos of on my laptop). It's a sweater for Peter's niece; a hat for me from the rest of that yarn; my bolero in Silk Tweed and Kid Seta, which I'm very fond of; and Ene's Scarf from Scarf Style (made a lot bigger by repeating the pattern many more times) for my mother on her 60th birthday.

Nu har jeg fundet en grund til at blive amerikaner

- det troede jeg ellers aldrig skulle ske.

Grunden er: GARN!

Hvorfor skal de ha' alt det seje garn...?! Tsk tsk tsk...

En ny feature på bloggen

Jeg har fået en ny feature på bloggen: i panelet til venstre kan man se, hvor langt jeg er nået med de projekter, jeg er i gang med. Såfremt der findes et billede af det, projektet skal komme til at ligne, på internettet - eller et link til den bog, hvor projektet kommer fra - kan man klikke på det.
Jeg er selv meget glad for den nye feature - så kan jeg bevare overblikket over alle de ting, jeg er gået i gang med fordi jeg ikke kunne vente, til de projekter, jeg egentlig var i gang med, blev færdige.


Layoutet har jeg lånt fra http://knithole.blogspot.com/ for det med at blive programmeringshaj i alt andet end LaTeX (nej, det er ikke noget man tager på, det er et tekstbehandlingsprogram, der er 10000000000xbedre end Word, men sværere at gå til), det overlader jeg til Peter. Husk at se Peters nye hjemmeside http://www.student.dtu.dk/~s021958/ (hvis der er noget om sæler eller søkøer eller noget andet underligt på den er det bare en del af læringsprocessen...:))

Det er da sjovt :) - man kunne jo også bruge sin egen fantasi, men her kan man se, hvordan det kommer til at se ud...

Peter-hue

I går (lørdag) strikkede jeg en rigtig snowboarder-mande-hue til Peter:




Men den kan også passe mig, hehe ;) Måske strikker jeg én i pink til mig selv... Man kan også få et sæt matchende vanter...
Jeg synes mønsteret er supergodt - så er det bare med at vælge farver :) Det er en modifikation fra knitty.com - her.

So this is Peter's hat - I made some modifications to the pattern from knitty.com. It fits me too, you see - I might do it in some girly colours. Lovely pattern.

I den forgangne uge er jeg blevet færdig med min fine nederdel:
