The simplicity of the stitch pattern works well with all those wonderful, multi-coloured sock yarns. The colour and the denseness of the pattern remind me of November. Knowing what November is like here in Denmark, some might notice the pun in the pattern title... :)
Knitting socks is quite appropriate in October, as it is the month of the famous Socktoberfest. Join in if you like - there's a group on Ravelry as well.
